Five mansions are set to be torn down in Laurel Canyon after a decades-long legal battle. The five unpermitted and unfinished mansions were originally set to be demolished back in 2003 after developers failed to do an environmental impact assessment, but the demolition never happened. After this, various owners have tried to finish the homes, but it would be in 2020 with its current owner that neighbors reported construction had restarted without city approval.
